At the same time???  As Paul said, that would be bad.  There should only
ever be one amandad running on a client at one time.  The first thing
I would check is that inetd.conf said "wait" rather than "nowait".

That will have no effect on amcheck.

And just so you're clear, all this does is create a larger "pool" for
Amanda to draw from when it's deciding whether to start another backup
or not.  It's sort of like asking the holding disk if there is enough
space, except were asking if there is enough (estimated) bandwidth.
Note that it has absolutely nothing to do with which physical interface
is used or how fast it runs -- that's left entirely up to the OS.
