Hi,
I use amanda with Exabyte X220/Mammoth-2 library and it works just
great. The problem I experience from time to time is that the media
changer cannot handle properly the 225m AME autoclean tapes for
Mammoth-2. These tapes have a segment of cleaning media at the beginning
of the tape. When cleaning is required the tape driver set a mark for
the current tape position, rewind/clean the head and goes back to the
mark. There is no need of the media changer interference but from time
to time I find the tape from the last backup on slot 1, that is the
cleaning slot and should be always empty because I have no cleaning
tape. My chg-zd-mtx files has the following lines:
cleanslot=1
firstslot=2
lastslot=21
I guess that if I can set the cleanslot to "current" instead of 1 it may
reduce the media changer interference at the clean-time. Or may be I
should unset cleanslot at all?
Can somebody help me how to change the "clean-tape" functionality of the
chg-zd-mtx changer to "do nothing"?
