amcheck & amverify ok, but selfcheck & amdump hang

Hi,

I have several machines backing up to a linux box sucessfully using
amanda, however trying to migrate these to a Solaris server isn't
working out...

On the new server amcheck reports all is well, however amdump hangs.
Watching the CPU usage the amanda processes slowly drop off to 0% CPU
use and stay that way forever (well atleast 72hours).  Selfcheck on
this machine producses the same results (permanent hang)

amlabel and amverify are also working correctly.

Ideas?
