Without anything else? Like a partial line? Maybe the file system

Is there a core file in the amanda.conf directory? What about
/tmp/amanda? Any system log file messages?

I didn't look very hard, but in docs/SAMBA is this tidbit:
And in /etc/amandapass on the machine 'pcserver', this line must be
present :
//thepc/backupc bozo%f00bar
I take that to mean the user is "bozo" and the password is "f00bar".
But since I don't deal with PC's, maybe someone else can confirm this.
