I am running Amanda 2.4.1p1 on an AIX 3.2. I only use Amanda for full
volume backups that I run once a month and I need to retain these for one
year. When I configured Amanda I put in amconfig the following: dumpcycle
3 weeks, runspercycle 20, tapecycle 247 tapes. Well a year has now past
and Amanda has only used 162 tapes. My estimate was off. Can I change my
tapecycle to 165 now. Will Amanda then start to reuse the tapes in the
tape list beyond the first 165? When Amanda starts to reuse tapes does it
delete the amdump file and the log file associated with these expired
tapes?? Thanks for your help.
