I *hope* GNU tar 1.13.17 or newer will ignore this error when called
with --ignore-failed-read, as Amanda does.
If you don't feel like using such an experimental version of GNU tar,
there's a #define somewhere in sendbackup*.c that controls whether to
ignore the exit status of GNU tar or something alike. Note that you
might miss other, more important error messages, though. Not that
I've ever seen an error message that couldn't be safely ignored.
