Hi,
The emailed reports are huge, because they include full file listings of the
samba shares.
According to the patches page on amanda.org, the samba2-20000418.diff patch will
"Update for Amanda's Samba support so that it auto-detects Samba 2+ at configure
time and uses its new features." In the file itself, it claims to enable the
"'-q' quiet option to smbclient." I'm using samba version 2.0.6 (displayed when
I type 'smbd').
I'm using FreeBSD ports system to work with the amanda 2.4.1p1 application. I
put the samba2-20000418.diff file into the /files directory of the skeleton, and
built the app.
But my reports still have monstrous lists of files in them.
The problem could be one of two things, I think:
1. The patch isn't getting put in properly. Was there something else I had to do
other than merely move the file into the /files directory of the skeleton? This
patch modifies the "configure" file, but it seems to me that it should still
work fine.
2. The -q option is available for the smbclient commands, but I was supposed to
do something else to actually enable it.
Any advice is appreciated! --- Eric
