I am trying to track down a problem with timeouts between my tape server
and itself when I run amcheck (and amdump, too). My amandad.debug file
says:

I am running amanda 2.4.1p1 on Linux 2.2.17. I am running Samba 2.0.7
as well.

In my mind - this is a weird interoperability problem between amanda and
samba. I don't think it is a security problem or a configuration
problem or else the amandad wouldn't run at all. Just because a PC is
turned off, that shouldn't cause all of the backups on spinoza to fail,
but that's the way it looks to me. I have a lot of trouble believing
that - Amanda is extremely well designed - so clearly there is something
else going on that I don't see.

Advice?

Thank you.
