A little more information. This also says /etc/dumpdates is just plain
not there. Dump tried to create it for you (just like the sequence of
commands I sent in the previous letter), but because Amanda runs it as
a normal user it did not have sufficient permissions in /etc to do it
(which is OK).
So after you run those commands I sent (as root), everything should
be happy.
