Hi:
We're thinking of buying a Sun workstation/server and an Exabyte Mammoth
430 tape library. Is anyone running Amanda on a Sun machine with an
Exabyte Mammoth tape drive/library?
Right now I'm testing AMANDA on a Sun Ultra 30. Amanda and the Sun work
fine with a plain old Exabyte 8500 tape drive. But I can't attach an
Exabyte Mammoth 2 tape drive. Evidently, the Sun's SCSI interface is HVD,
while the Exabyte Mammoth's SCSI interface is LVD. I'd have to install a
SCSI converter board from Antares if I wanted the two to communicate.
If anyone is using a Mammoth tape library, I'd be very interested in hearing
about their experiences.
