Hey, after we already blamed Amanda for not doing incrementals on vfat
partitions and for crashing NT, it broke my tape drive last night!
Yes, really: Yesterday evening I upgraded my Amanda server to
2.4.2. The next amdump run, the tape drive (HP C1533A, DDS-2) broke
when writing the first filemark. The amber LED was on this morning.
Powercycling and applying the tips on www.hp.com (press the eject
button for 30s...) didn't help, the drive does even not eject the
cartridge.
I'm pretty sure Amanda shot the tape drive to death! :-)
