Judging from activity on lists I manage, there are now spammers
(and maybe spambots) who go around looking for lists, subscribing,
then spamming.
I can usually spot 'em when I see "has been subscribed to"
messages for the same user on all the lists around here. Including
a couple of lists that haven't been decommissioned but have zero
volume and are of no earthly interest to anybody now living. Have
thought about adding something that monitors that sort of activity
and auto-unsubscribes the email address in question, or at
least forwards any posts to list maintainers for approval.
