Hi,
I am setting up a new backup client and have copied as much as possible
the config from a similar working client. My OS is Redhat 6.2. I have
configured Amanda 2.4.1p1 from source thusly:

--with-user=operator
--with-group=disk
--without-server
--with-amandahosts

.amandahosts is installed and exactly like the other working host.
Inetd is configured identically as well and has been restarted since
editing its config.

amanda dgram udp wait operator /usr/local/libexec/amandad amandad

Yet when I run amcheck from the tape host I get the error:
access as operator not allowed from operator@<tapehost>

/tmp/amanda/amandad.debug shows
bsd security: remote host <tapehost> user operator local user operator
check failed: [access as operator not allowed from operator@<tapehost>]

Nothing more enlightening than that. :( I've probably made a simple
mistake, but I have been through the installation docs and the FAQ and
I'm still stuck. Help??

Thanks,
Eric
