I am trying to set it up as an optional package for a Linux
distribution. "bin" does have a ~, it is /bin. /bin isn't exactly the
place for a config file for an optional backup program. There are few
standard users to select from in our distribution, I can't add one just
for amanda. "root" is the only user we have that has an actual home
directory. However, if I changed amanda to look somewhere other than a
home directory, some file the amanda user could own. Then none of this is
a problem I think and it doesn't change security. I just wanted to know if
this was a good idea and if not the best, then what is.
