Which is irrelevant since Amanda uses a different security model.

FYI, Amanda does not support NIS, so those + entries are useless.

I'm not sure (looks more or less OK to me).  Please try the following
patch which adds a lot better diagnostics and also re-enables the security
test program (now called "bsdsecurity") as a last resort.  You only need
to build/install this on the client -- the server side is not affected.

The code includes one real fix.  It was not handing trailing white space
properly when reading .amandahosts, so if you have any of that in the
file, it might be the problem.
