There are enough changes that it may be senseless. I'll give it a try this
weekend, though.

Depends on your definition of compatible ;-}
1. It works with newer versions of mtx, retains support for the old
2. It now skips blank slots without error
3. It gave up trying to decide when to clean the tape, as this became
insanity given the differences in tape drive manufacturers, styles, etc.
