Hello ,

I have received a couple of replies with the same answers - thank you
to the ones who replied so far.

Allow me to ellaborate a bit.

I am running amanda right now , but in order to accomplish it , I had
to move amanda.conf to /u/amanda/etc/amanda , and call it out with a
null conf flag (i.e. /u/amanda/sbin/amcheck '') , then it runs fine.
HOWEVER , when I run amdump , it looks for the amanda.conf in the
directory where I originally had the file , in other words ,
/u/amanda/sbin/amdump '' yields - amgetconf: could not find config file
"/u/amanda/conf/amanda.conf"

Arrgggh

I see that amdump is just a shell script , and that I can change the
location to match what amcheck expected , but the question is how did
this happen , and how can I prevent it on subsequent configurations ??

Thanks again,
