Hello to all amanda-users,

I have spent a considereable amount of time reading over the many
posts on the exabyte and amanda topic. However, everytime I read a
topic I feel that I am one step closer to get this machine to work
only to get slapped down.

Currently, I am running Amanda 2.4.2, with the Exabyte Mammoth 2 EZ17
loader, on a Dell Poweredge 2300, etc..
My exact configuration is as follows.

In my amanda.conf file i have:
<snip>
tpchanger "/usr/amanda/libexec/chg-zd-mtx"
tapedev "/dev/nst0"
changerdev "/dev/nst0"

tapetype M2-AME225 (thanks to an earlier post from someone that went
through the boredom of tapetype)

<snip>

I've tried using /dev/sga where /dev/nst0 is in the amanda.conf file
but no success.

Im using the chg-zd-mtx from amanda 2.4.2
I've also downloaded and compiled the latest MTX version 1.2.10
and properly configured chg-zd-mtx to point to it.

The error message I get is the following:

amcheck-server: could not get changer info: badly formed result from
changer: "/usr/amanda/libexec/chg-zd-mtx: /usr/adm/amanda/changer-
status-clean: No such file or directory"

Im trying to find where in chg-zd-mtx is it looking for the changer-
status-clean file, and I can't find it on the src distribution
of Amanda.

Also /dev/sga which is the generic device for the changer has the
proper permission and so does /dev/nst0. I have made sure that I can
access the tape drive by using either tar
or cat.

Thanks for anyone with suggestions or comments.
