I don't know what kind of drive that is, but most modern drives (4mm, 8mm,
DLT, etc) always rewind the tape before ejecting. It's not an option.

If you mean the start of the next **tape** cycle (as compared to dump
cycle), yes, Amanda will overwrite whatever was on TAPE000.
