The autopak configuration by default emulates Spectra 215
It is also capable of being set as:
Spectra 10000, Exabyte EXB210, and Spectra 4000
on the changer side. It can also operate in stacker mode, sequentially.
It seems possible that mtx would operate this changer more
effectively (and transparently) than chg-scsi...
I am also not entirely clear on how amanda tracks tapes and slots.
tapelist seems very specific to a configuration
labelfile databases barcode-tape associations, but doesn't track slots.
tape0-slot only tracks the actual location currently...
Right now I have four configurations (daily, full, offsite, and laptops)
backing up linux only.
These files are in /usr/local/etc/amanda/<config>, each with it's own
amanda.conf and disklist
(as I finish the details of this implementation, I think I will move the
common elements out of the individual
config files and into /usr/local/etc/amanda/amanda.conf.main).
The tape files (tape0-slot, tape0-clean, tapestatus) labelfile and
changer.conf files are at /usr/local/etc/amanda and are
shared among all the configs.
