This means that it worked exactly as I expected it to.

One other quick question for you - are any of these fixes etc added to the
FAQ? Not that I can really talk, I suppose... if those of us who are lucky
enough to have a problem solved all posted it in a digestable format on the
FAQ-O-MATIC then I'm sure the volume of enquires would drop.

This says one of the Amanda database files (or a directory down to
it) is locked up, i.e. wrong ownership.  Look for a directory named
"curinfo" in your amanda.conf directory (or whatever you set "infofile"
to in amanda.conf).  That, and everything under it, must be owned by
the Amanda user and writable.

I think this is fixed in 2.4.2.
