Hi Folks;
 
I just reinstalled Amanda-2.4.1 on FreeBSD-4.2-STABLE and nuked the curinfo, log* and amdump* files from /usr/local/etc/amanda/<config>
 
I went ahead and started a new install and did the config files as usual but whe I run amdump amanda always says "CAN'T SWITCH TO INCREMENTAL DUMP". Man I am pulling my hair on this one!! because I even erased the tapes so amanda will not see previous dumps on them.
 
here is some error output:
*** THE DUMPS DID NOT FINISH PROPERLY!

These dumps were to tapes .
Tonight's dumps should go onto 1 tape: a new tape.

FAILURE AND STRANGE DUMP SUMMARY:
  taper: FATAL shmget: Cannot allocate memory
