You are using gnutar.
It's slow (es. an incremental with gzip compression)
Make sure you have set your timeout to something large
I have dtimeout set to 1800 .
Also, did you check /tmp/amanda on the client for debug files
(sendbackup.*.debug ) ?
If so, what's in the last (timewise) sendbackup.*.debug files ?
There should be one for sdc1 and one for sda2.
