A few thoughts: (Some of these might be silly or obvious)

In http://www.backupcentral.com/amanda-2.html:
        - Explain why appending to tape is a bad idea

In http://www.backupcentral.com/amanda-4.html:
        - "Some operating system distributions provide pre-compiled versions
of AMANDA, but because AMANDA hardcodes some values into the programs, they
may not match the configuration." seems to be missing something.

In http://www.backupcentral.com/amanda-5.html:
        - At least mention a newer version of SAMBA
        - Warn about known bad version(s) of tar
        - Mention that dump can be used, but is system specific
        - Mention that the required software should be installed BEFORE
AMANDA so that she can detect it during configure

In http://www.backupcentral.com/amanda-6.html:
        - There is a trailing underscore after the configure commands
        - "./conFigure 4-1rguments."

In http://www.backupcentral.com/amanda-7.html:
        - Another underscore after configure. Does this mean something I
don't know? (likely)

In http://www.backupcentral.com/amanda-11.html:
        - The first block of parameters aren't formatted very nicely

In http://www.backupcentral.com/amanda-12.html:
        - Might want to change this part of the tapetype section to refer to
FoM "Post the results to the amanda-users mailing list so others may benefit
from your effort."

In http://www.backupcentral.com/amanda-23.html:
        - It looks like "Using amrestore" was supposed to be a section
heading

In http://www.backupcentral.com/amanda-24.html:
        - It looks like there is a line "To restore, position the tape at
start of file and run:" in the middle of the header that should be in
monotype but isn't.

Subject: Updating the "Amanda chapter" web pages

I've been given the "opportunity" :-) to update the Amanda chapter
web pages at www.backupcentral.com/amanda.html, so now would be a good
time for everyone to toss in their comments on what it should contain
(keeping in mind that every minute I'm typing HTML is one I won't be
typing Amanda code or mailing list answers -- I've got two hands but am
decidedly **not** ambidextrous :-).

If you've seen any typos, total lies or that kind of thing, please send
pointers to me.

A couple of items to improve that have popped to mind are even more
about how to do GNU tar exclusions and vastly more about setting up
changer config files. Silly question :-), but are there any others?
