as you see i cannot start up amrecover.

amrecover: Unexpected server end of file
What does "Unexpectes server end.." mean?? Who produces this message??
It is also not possible to connect via telnet to the port:
saturn:~ # telnet saturn 10082

amindexd: could not open conf file "amanda.conf": No such file or directory
