well, i just tried something silly, I did the backup over NFS to the
tape server, which is not really a nice way to do backups.. but the
preformance was great. I got 350k/sec from the O-200 and 195k/sec from
the chalange-S which seems to point to some problem with SGI's and
ftp/amanda. I'm going to call and yell at SGI sometime soon.
