You might want to look through the E-mail archives for the past month
or so.  Jason Hollinden has been working on chg-zd-mtx lately.

This was also just in the E-mail list a couple of days ago.  /dev/sg2 is
your changer.  You want to be accessing the tape device, which would be
something like /dev/nst0.  Look for subject "First tapechanger", and in
particular a letter from Joseph Del Corso <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>.

At least that was my understanding of the conversation.  I don't use mtx
(or Linux).
