No, you don't have to create it by hand. Note that the message says
"file or directory" (I assume you typed that by hand and caused the
spelling error). And note that the path starts with "/isr". Shouldn't
that be "/usr"? Maybe you have a typo in amanda.conf?
If "/isr" is another typo in composing the letter, then I'd suggest doing
an "ls -ld" of each element of the path Amanda reports and making sure it
exists and that the Amanda user has search ('x') access down through it.
