You cannot do that with Amanda. When Amanda runs GNU tar (or any backup
program) it arranges for the image to go to stdout and across the network
to your tape server machine where it is placed in the holding disk or
sent to taper to go direct to tape. So the backup program has no idea
it is talking to a tape, and therefor it cannot do multi-volume.
At the moment, Amanda does not support backup images larger than a tape.
You'll have to split it up "by hand" and make multiple disklist entries.
