It's used to find the holding disk, to find the tape drive, to find
what tape changer to use, to find the tapelist file, to find the Amanda
database directory, to find where to E-mail the report, ...

I don't see any way to do what it needs to do without an amanda.conf,
which translates to needing a configuration name.
