Make sure your holding disk names include the configuration name in the path. I've been using "/u/dumps/amanda" and "/w/dumps/amanda". I'm going to add "Daily" and "Archive" to the end of the paths. I had an Archive configuration run longer than anticipated. The amcheck for the Daily configuration ran during taping the last Archive file system causing it to abort and be left on the holding disk. The Daily backup did not tape as no Daily tapes were in the cartridge. It too was left on the holding disk. Although they were created using different configurations, different backup programs (ufsdump and gtar), and on different dates both dumps flushed to tape with amflush Daily. Post-mortem reading of the amflush man page shows this is expected behavior :( Live and Learn jon -- Jon H.
