OK, now that I understand you're not splitting clients among multiple
servers, what time did dumper0 get started?  It would be interesting to
know if the time from start to connection reset is close to some kind of
nice number, like 5 minutes or 10 minutes, which might indicate a timeout.

Note that this is probably not an Amanda issue.  Unless you changed it,
the Amanda date phase timeout is 30 minutes, and you're not even close
to that.  So something on that client shut down the connection.

There wasn't anything of interest in amandad*debug or sendbackup*debug?

How about in your process log?  Did any of the Amanda processed get
killed?
