I was forced to start off with a small number of tapes and now I got the
rest of them in. In preparation for adding them into the rotation. I
amlabled all the tapes and put some of them in the changer. I didn't
modify the amanda.conf yet because I wanted it to use the next tape
numerically, like if I didn't have any new tapes. I didn't know at the
time that amlabel was updating the tapelist. I was planning on editing
the amanda.conf on the day I wanted to use the first new tape. But,
today when I came in to work amanda had used the first new tape in the
changer.

Now I want to fix this so the tapes will once again be in numerical
error. It would be confusing to remember that 11 comes after 8, etc.
Can I just edit the tapelist file to put them back in order?

I had 10 tapes before, I added 8 more yesterday. I left tapes 8-14 in
the jukebox (monday-sunday's run). Last night's dumps were supposed to
go to tape 9. But they went on tape 11, the first unused tape in the
tapelist.

Here is today's tapelist.

If I want amanda to ask for the tapes in numerical order would I just
move 11-18 in between 10 and 1? What will it do when I want it to use
tape 11 on friday when last nights backups went onto it? Should I just
move 12-18 between 10 and 1 and then move 11 in a week when all the
dumps on it are outdated? Are there any other files that need to be
updated?

Thanks,
