That's almost for certain not the right device name.  It should probably
be /dev/nst0.  You need to use the no-rewind name with Amanda.

That would not cause the I/O error, but you need to fix it in any case.

You need to create this directory.  Make sure it is either owned by the
Amanda user or the Amanda user has rwx access.

common problem.  Check there first, and if that doesn't help, post back
here with what you tried and what the results were.
