Hard Drive instead of Tape Archiving

Hi guys,


I'm new here but have been looking for a good solution for our backup
requirement.
I was wondering if it is possible to, instead of using, I could store
the archive on a
hard drive. I know it's lame but for personal purposes I'd like to
backup my files and
store them on a separate partition which I will mount only when I'm
backing up my
files.
