Hiho,

today, I decided to start new with my backups. I use NetBSD-1.5S and
an ADR50 from OnStream, Amanda Version 2.4.2. I took my disklist and
put as first step the files on the backupprocess which are the
biggest disks (or directories).

Since one filesystem is >40GB big, I divided its content into
different directories which shall get backed up (these tapes can
hold 25GB native so I can not put it on one tape).

As soon as I start amdump it tries to get estimates - and it failes:

angua:/path/to/save 0 3387540k wait for dumping

But if I make a du -sk, I get:

> du -sk /path/to/save
6788155 /path/to/save

Since amanda thinks it has only to back up ~3.3GB, it tries to put
everything on the holding disk (which is 5.5GB big) - and this will
fail.

Can you tell me what I am doing wrong?

Ciao, Hanno
