Hello,

I'm new to amanda. I think I followed all the installation steps but
cannot get it to work.

Installed amanda 2.4.2 on a debian system, added "backup" to the disks group
so that it can access local drives..
amcheck reports all is good! no errors.. disklist is as follows..

# backup host
main sda5 comp-root
main sda1 comp-root

I get this error when running amdump..

# su backup -c "/usr/sbin/amdump DailySet1"
amdump: must be run as user backup

As you can see.. I am user backup !! What am I doing wrong?
backup is the user listed in amanda.conf .. Does backup need to own
amdump?!?!
Right now its part of the backup group only... owned by root with u+s as per
install
instructions.

Thanks

Bob
