Hi,
I'm trying to set up amanda-2.4.2p2 on an Irix 6.5.11 system, using a
exabyte EXB-210 tape library & exabyte mammoth (EXB-8900) drive and
the chg-scsi tpchanger.
As far as I know the EXB-210 library conforms to the SCSI-2 Medium Changer
command set, so I suppose the chg-scsi module can safely use the
Generic driver. (at least Irix lets me manipulate the robot using the
Irix stacker(1m) command)
However, when I try to label a tape, the chg-scsi module dies with
signal 11 (SIGSEGV)
The last sign of life in the debug file is:
GenericRewind : Ready after 18 sec, true = 0
##### START SCSI_TestUnitReady
##### START DecodeSCSI
SCSI_ExecuteCommand : TEST UNIT READY 00 00 00 00 00 00
##### STOP DecodeSCSI
STATUS(00) RET(00)
##### START SenseHandler
so, apparently it dies in the SenseHandler function.
(this is after it has moved the correct tape from the bin to the drive and
after the drive is declared "ready". It is however the first time
SenseHandler is called)
Has anybody seen this behaviuor before? If yes, any ideas? (short of
compiling with -g and debugging the whole lot?)
[I had a quick look in scsi-changer-driver.c and in all cases it should
print something like "Ident = ...", so perhaps either the pChangerDev,
pTapeDev or pTapeDevCtl points to a bogus address?]
Any help is appreciated...
