I had the changer plugged in to channel B of the integrated controller
all by itself. The changer has a terminator plug on it and the
integrated controller was doing auto-termination. However, to eliminate
a cabling problem, I brought over the BusLogic controller that was in
the old backup server and plugged the changer into the external port on
the card itself-- no other cable besides the known-good changer cable.

I have continued to experience problems with writing filemarks and
getting 'bad file descriptor' errors on nightly Amanda runs as well as
with amflush. I am suspecting the drive has some sort of problem. I
have a new question as I search for a replacement Mammoth (EXB-8900)
drive: The ones that I am finding for sale appear to be the "internal
drive" form factor, i.e. the kind of drive you would insert into a
standard PC drive bay. Will this form factor fit in my EXB-210 changer
or do I have to look for something more specific? I'm hoping someone on
the list has had experience with something like this. I haven't. :)

Thanks!
Eric
