What happens if you run amreport by hand, **as the Amanda user**, with
just the config name as an arg:

  su <amanda> -c "amreport <config>"

Does it complain about anything?

Are there any core files in the amanda.conf directory? In /tmp/amanda?

That's because of the "log" file. If you want to just get past this
particular problem, you can remove it if you don't care about the
contents, or rename it yourself.

Ummm, if you're just getting started, you might want to get a new
Amanda release. 2.4.1p1 is years old. 2.4.2p2 is the latest.
