Hopefully that's a good thing (better than being bored silly or out of
a job :-).
Since your first posting, I've looked into the "did not get a reserved
port" problem as several people have mentioned it. To make a long story
short, I applied a change in 2.4.2p2 without fully understanding the side
effects. It fixed a real problem, but in the process introduced a new
problem (what you're seeing) to anyone who builds with --with-portrange.
I posted a problem summary and suggested solutions to amanda-hackers
for comment a few days ago. If I don't hear anything back shortly,
I'll go ahead with the change and post it here.
Sorry for the problems this has been causing people. And before anyone
asks, no, I don't think there is a quick workaround. But the good news
is the proposed change, unless someone has a problem with it, is pretty
simple and won't take long to implement once I get a few free minutes.
