Could someone please help me with a little advice on the interpretation of the attached Amanda log? I have been receiving this error for the second day in a row now. The line: souterrain sda3 lev 2 FAILED [out of tape] made me think that my backup volume was larger than my tape. But the total output size seems to be only 182M (on a DDS2 drive). The second thing that comes to mind is that the tape is a gonner. On my console I find odd messages like: st0: Error with sense data: Info fld=0x41, Current st09:00: sns = f0 3 ASC= c ASCQ= 0 Raw sense data: -load of crap- does this mean that my tape drive is gone? In fact, this has happened a few times in the past, and made me replace the particular tape. But because it now is the second consecutive time, I would like to know what is going on.
