That's normal when you run it by hand. This shows, however, that
amandad is functional. The next step is to see if inetd is firing it up
on demand. The FAQ items above cover that, but basically you need to
see if it is even listening (netstat -a | grep amanda), then make sure
the config line is right (e.g. the path to amandad is right), then make
sure something like TCP wrappers is not getting in the way and finally
see if the amandad*debug file is getting updated.
You might try removing /tmp/amanda. If you ran amandad by hand as other
than the Amanda user, it might have incorrect ownership.
