hello all,

my amanda installation seems to be running fine (even the smbclient disklist
entries are being backed up).

now, i'm trying to learn the amrestore utility. i can successfully run
`amrestore $TAPE my-host my-fs` and i see that it is restoring a backup
image to the directory i'm running amrestore from.

my next question (as basic as it may be) is: how can i read/manipulate that
image? i've tried piping the amrestore command to "| /sbin/restore -ivb 2
-" , but it's not actually restoring the data onto the hdd. i'm not very
familiar with backup images.

i'm running Amanda version 2.4.2p2 and Linux RH v7.1 (2.4.2-2 kernel)

thanks in advance for any assistance.

Highest Regards,
