Just about ready to start my first backups with Amanda, have one question
though:
I am about to setup the tapes and currently, I want to "play" with older
tapes that I have onsite (don't want to waste brand new tapes if big dummy
(that's me) screws something up). I am safe to erase and use these tapes
but I am unsure of a couple things:
1) Will amanda allow the use of "erased tapes" such as: mt -f /dev/st0 erase?
2) Does amanda have a utility to initialize the tapes? I have looked
through the man pages and either I am looking over the utility or it
doesn't have one available.
Any insight would be appreciated.
