That could just mean whatever made ufsdump upset doesn't happen to be
active at the moment.

OK.  That's a normal situation.

Yeah, that confuses people, and I agree the terminology could easily
be considered "backward".  But it is the way it is and to start calling
things by the other names would only make matters worse.

Those are called "Amanda clients".

Use "strategy nofull" or "strategy incronly" in the dumptype.  But read
about them in the amanda(8) man page.

That should be correct.  Why?  Is it not working?

You might also consider backing up (e.g. with GNU tar by hand) the curinfo
database and tapelist files yourself before a test run, and then just
restore them to start again.
