after much work, i've gotten most things working, well, on an induvidual
command level.

chio allows me to move the picker around. no problems.

mt allows me to mount, and unmount tapes from the DLT drive. no problems.

chg-chio doesn't seem to let me do jack.

gump# pwd
/usr/local/etc/amanda/daily

gump# /usr/local/libexec/amanda/chg-chio -genconf
chio: /usr/local/etc/amanda/daily/amanda.conf,: open: No such file or
directory
/usr/local/etc/amanda/daily/amanda.conf,: not found
/usr/local/etc/amanda/daily/amanda.conf,: not found
amgetconf:: not found
chg-chio: No drive or picker ? (0/0)

sooo.. i took a 'working config' that was given to me earlier, and
attempted to adapt it over. with no aparent success. i get, simply put,
the exact same errors that i started with.

can anyone suggest something to me that will make me feel a bit better?

teh OS is freebsd 4.3 and 5.0, with amanda-2.4.2-p2.

everything throws the error about the configuration file not being
there. yet, at the same time, amgetconf sees the config file, and throws
me an non-existant line error.

i'm very confused.
