In order to debug a changer script I'd recommend running amtape with
various commands. This will allow you to figure out exactly what's
working and what's not. Once you're convinced amtape is working
properly, then go try amdump.

Not sure what this is but it's certainly not one of the scripts
included with amanda. You'll probably have to talk to the author
for questions specific to this script.
