Hi,
I am attempting to set up my HP Sure Store Dat-40e on my Debian 2.2.19
installation.
After attempting to weed through all of the READMEs and doing some searches
in the archives I made the following changes.

I have not formatted the tape or ever succesfully mounted the tape drive to
/backup (which is where I want it).

I have set the following parameters in amanda.conf
        tapedev "/dev/st0"
        tapetype HP-Dat

below I have specified

        define tapetype HP-DAT {
                comment "DAT tape drives"
                length 40000 mbytes  #It is a 40 gig
                filemark 100 kbytes #only because this is what it was originally I
dont
know what it should be
                speed 500 kbytes #this was what was already here as well
        }

To start I only want to back up this very machine so in disklist i have

        localhost sdb1 nocomp-root
        #i use this just because nocomp-root is already defined until testing is
complete.

after making these changes i figured I needed to label a disk.
so I ran
        amlabel DailySet1 TestLabel1

And it has said
        rewinding
ever since then (hours). It seems as though it might be doing something so I
dont want to interrupt it but it has been way to long.
I saw some notes in the .conf file that said "use the (no-rewind)" I could
not see anything else about no rewind, and cant figure out what it is.

In short(hehe) what am I missing?
And since I am sure someone has the answer to this one and as soon as I get
past it I will run into something else. what is a good resource to help walk
me through the setup process?

Thanks
Michael Blood
