I didn't read the back threads, but did look at a conversation I had
with one user. The problem is the nitwits at IBM have half-installed
(and zero documented) "IBM does Linux" and got things completely muddled
up so configure has no chance of doing the right thing.
The other user renamed mntent.h to old.mntent.h and got around it (don't
forget to "make distclean" before rerunning ./configure). Since the
IBM mntent.h is broken anyway, I don't think you'll lose anything by
doing this.
